Care when you need it

Important: Frist Responder Health Group combines a Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) plan, which satisfies ACA preventive care requirements, with a health-sharing arrangement for eligible major medical expenses like emergency, surgery, hospitalization, and maternity. The MEC portion is a limited benefit plan, not comprehensive major medical insurance. Major medical expenses are shared via Health Share, not insured, and sharing is not guaranteed. Health Share is not health insurance.

What is an UA?

Similar to a deductible, the Unshared Amount, or UA, is the amount a member will pay per incident before the ShareWELL shares in medical expenses. The lower your UA, the higher your monthly contribution will be. After the UA is met, additional eligible medical expenses are provided for. If, for example, you choose a $1,500 UA and are hospitalized with an appendicitis, you pay the UA for that incident, and eligible expenses are shared from there. Some conditions have limitations. See your member guidelines for details.Members do not pay for the same Sharing Request within 12 months of the last treatment date. Additionally, members will not be responsible for more than two UAs in a rolling 12-month period.

*Additional surcharge for tobacco use

*This is a basic comparison. This is not a formal SBC Document. Reference plan SBC’s for full details on benefits and coverage. The Freedom Plan is a hybrid program: preventive care is provided through Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) that meets ACA requirements, while hospitalization, surgery, and emergency care are provided through a Health Share component. The Health Share portion is not insurance and does not guarantee payment of medical expenses, unlike the ACA marketplace plans shown.
